WHAT? |
This course meets the required Tennessee Emergency Services Training Act of 2005 that requires anyone in the state of that operates an emergency vehicle take no less than two (2) hours of emergency vehicle operation training annually. The training will include the operation of the vehicle in emergency and non-emergency situations and a review of all applicable laws pertaining to emergency vehicles and non-emergency vehicles. Topics discussed will include dynamics, pursuit liability, occupant protection, and vehicle maintenance. |
| WHO? |
Any one driving an emergency vehicle in its official capacity. Includes: Law Enforcement personnel, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, rescue personnel, volunteer rescue personnel, and emergency services personnel. |
| WHERE? |
One may take this course in the privacy of their home or at work. You will need the following: Computer with internet access, have and be able to use at least Microsoft Word ‘98, and comfortable navigating the Web and email usage. |
| WHY? |
A refresher course of this type is required by law for all operators of emergency vehicles each year in the State of Tennessee. The training is mandatory for law enforcement officers to be eligible for the salary supplement. |
