Karen S. Ward is the Director, Nursing and Allied Health for RODP. Her primary responsibilities include coordination of the MSN, AASN and HIT programs.
Before coming to the Regents Online Campus Collaborative, Dr. Ward was Professor and Associate Director, Online Programs for the School of Nursing at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She provided leadership for programs that offered online courses to working nurses and other working professionals, which included the RN/BSN, the MSPS in Healthcare Informatics and the RODP-MSN. Her teaching responsibilities included Advanced Nursing Research and Scholarly Synthesis.
Dr. Ward's previous experiences include positions on faculty at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia and Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She has published in many peer reviewed journals and presented at many international, national and regional conferences. Most recently, she presented at the 3rd International Congress on Women’s Health in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr. Ward received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. She also completed a Masters in Nursing with a focus in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Ward received her PhD from Cornell University, in Ithaca New York, with a major in Developmental Psychology.
