RODP Quality Review

The RODP Quality Review process is based on an amalgamation of the basic tenets of several sets of best practices including Chickering & Gamson’s Seven Principles, Quality Matters, SREB, Sloan-C, ALN, and a thorough review of best practice literature. While standardization of the interface is an important part of almost all of these statements of best practices, we do realize that there are exceptions to every rule. If you would like to certify that your course does indeed lend itself to a different standard than the RODP guidelines, please send a statement requesting that accommodation. Please include the nature of your exception request and a statement of why you feel it is a pedagogically sound strategy. Your course will then be submitted for review by the RODP Curriculum Committee.

The Quality Review takes place twice. Initially, your course will be reviewed somewhere around 30-45 days after you begin development. This initial review is only intended to look at your initial development to make sure you're off on the right path of development. The 30 Day review looks at your homepage, Getting Started module and your first module of content in the course and lets you know if you need any adjustments in how you are proceeding - so you don't get to the end of your development and find out you have to make modifcations in every module.

Then, after you have completed your development, the RODP Qualitly Review committee will look at the entire course one more time and review it against the program standards. A formal e-mail will be sent to you with any modifications that need to made prior to the course being formally approved and accepted into the RODP course inventory.
