30 Day Initial Quality Review

RODP 30 Day Initial Quality Review

 

Within 30-45 days* of the notification of approval of the course proposal by the RODP Curriculum Committee, the course developer shall inform the RODP Director of eLearning Instructional Design Center that he/she has completed the required elements of the 30 Day Initial Quality Review material.  This includes:

 

      Course Homepage has been created and updated

      Getting Started Module has been updated.

        • Instructor Message page has been updated and reflects the current course and/or instructor message.
        • Instructor Information page has been updated and reflects the current course and/or instructor message.
        • Syllabus page has been updated with the correct course syllabus using the RODP Syllabus template.
        • Course Expectations has been updated.

      Course Content

        • Only one Module of content may be completed.  This can include any content related to the first module’s Objectives; Overview; Key Words and Terms; Content; Assignments; Discussion Board Forum and Topics; Assessments; Additional Resources; Review/Reflection; etc.
        • Developer may not proceed to the development of content modules or other content related to additional modules until the developer receives and recommendations from the 30 Day Initial Quality Review.

The primary purpose of this review is to give the course developer an early insight to how their course might be reviewed when given a full RODP Quality Review and the end of the development process.. This early review gives the developer the opportunity to adjust his/her development with needed or suggested modificaitons prior to creating all the content in the course.

In addition to looking at the items listed above, the reviewers will look at how the Module 1 components integrate with the other aspects of the course. This would include making sure the gradebook is linked to gradeable items within the course; naming schemes are consistent across the different tools fo the course, etc.

 

* The actual time that this review takes place may be shorter or longer than 30-45 days. For instance, a developer may be beginning development of a course in which they do not plan to offer for more than a year, and due to schedule constraints may not begin serious development of the content for several months. The
