Virtual Bookstore
Purchase all the textbooks and course materials you need from the Virtual Bookstore in the comfort of your own home! It is as simple as selecting your program, term, department and course and you are instantly provided with the required course materials. You can check your textbook condition preference, view your shopping cart and securely check out. An extensive Help/FAQ section is available for all of your questions and concerns. You are just a few clicks away from being fully prepared for the upcoming semester. This student service is accessible through the Desire2Learn database.
Virtual Library
The Virtual Library's mission is to provide online services that are equivalent to services provided at traditional campus libraries. The library provides the following services:
- Reference Library Services via e-mail and webpage
- Reference Service from any Board of Regents Library: includes e-mail, live chat and reference desk phone support
- Interlibrary Loan Services via home campus
- Universal Borrowers Cards issued via college or university library of record. Provides on-campus services and lending privileges to the book and journal collections of the nearest Board of Regents college or university library
The Virtual Library was established to provide online search capabilities, reference materials, databases, journals and other research services to students and faculty by joining together the resources of the Board of Regents' Libraries. This student service is accessible through the Desire2Learn database.
Virtual Career Center
The Board of Regents Virtual Career Center is designed for all. It includes information for individuals from middle school age to working adults. Whether you are interested in writing or rewriting your resume; preparing for an interview; and/or looking for an occupation that matches your interests, skills and experience, this website provides a wealth of information to achieve your career and educational goals. The website is customized for students, recent graduates, working adults and non-working adults. It provides you with a career database, education options, a list of “Hot Jobs” and a link to The Source -- a job search website managed by the State Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
Virtual Tutoring - Smarthinking
Online student tutoring is available in numerous subjects via the Smarthinking service.
Follow these steps to get started:
- Log in to the D2L eLearn portal. Click on the Smarthinking link on the left.
- Your Username will be the same as your Desire2Learn (D2L) username. The format is the first initial of your first name followed by your last name and your month and day of birth. For example: Jane Doe, DOB = 08/15/80 would be jdoe0815
- Your password would be your six digit date of birth (mmddyy). For example, August 15, 1980 would be 081580
- Press the ‘Log In’ button. You may need to disable your pop-up blocker.
- You are now registered and logged into SMARTHINKING. When you have finished your session, remember to log out.

Sample Tutorials
Visit the Smarthinking website for sample tutorials that demonstrate how the online tutoring platform works, and how you and tutors interact in the process of addressing a question. The tutorials (shown below) are listed in alphabetical order. Click on the tutorial you would like to review and an online viewing window will appear.
Troubleshooting Tips

- Install Java. Go to http://www.java.com for a free download.
- Install Flash 8+. Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Student Smarthinking accounts are available approximately one week after the start of the semester, following the Drop/Add period.
