Admissions Steps
The Regents Online program would like to thank you for your interest in our online learning programs. To get started on furthering your education, complete the following 6 steps to admission:
Step One: Complete the prospective student profile:

Not sure which profile to submit?
- University & Community College profile
Select this profile if you are planning to pursue an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or are taking courses for college credit from one of our 13 community colleges or 6 public universities. University and community college courses are offered during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. - Technology Center profile
Select this profile for workforce development programs offered at the 27 Technology Centers located across Tennessee. Technology Center courses are offered on a trimester schedule and lead to certificate and diploma awards. - Continuing Education profile
Select this profile for non-credit courses, courses that award Continuing Education Units (CEUs), and courses that lead to certification in a given career field or meet an organization’s in-service training requirements. Continuing Education courses are offered in on-demand and scheduled formats.
Step Two: Apply for admission to the school of your choice. Continuing Education students do not have to apply for admission. Traditional financial aid is not available for Continuing Education courses. Proceed to the Continuing Education profile to enroll in your course(s).
Step Three: Review the tuition, fees and costs for courses
Step Four: Find financial aid and payment information from your home campus
Step Five: Review your home campus calendar for important dates and deadlines
Step Six: Obtain acceptance from your home campus
After you have been accepted, complete the following:
- Seek advising to register at your home campus
- Purchase your books at the virtual bookstore
- On the first day of the semester, log into class
Placement Testing for Degree Seeking Students (COMPASS)
If you are a new degree-seeking student you should make an appointment for placement testing if it is required. Placement Testing is available through all TBR institutions. Contact your TBR Developmental Studies Director at your home institution. Arrangements will be made to assist you in completing this test.
