Applications are no longer being accepted for the AASN RODP. No new students will be admitted to this program. This program was developed as a pilot program. It is the decision of the particiating campus presidents to terminate the program. Please contact the TBR campus of your choice to inquire about nursing program options. Campus contact information is available at: http://rodp.org/campus.
Please contact Ingrid Bradley at aasn-inquiry for questions.
Students must meet eligibility requirements for the program as well as admission requirements specific to their home campus. Admission to the program will be based on competitive selection from the pool of applicants who have been admitted to a participating college (designated home school) as a degree seeking student in good standing.
Two unsuccessful attempts (academic/withdrawals) in a nursing program will render a candidate ineligible for admission to the AASN program through RODP.
Eligibility requirements for the AASN RODP include the following:
- Completion of all required developmental courses
- 2.75 GPA in courses required in the nursing major.
- Successful performance on a standardized preadmission test
- Completion of Anatomy and Physiology I and II with a grade of "C" or better
- Completion of four (4) semester hours of Microbiology or three (3) semester hours of pathophysiology with a grade of “C” or better.
- Demonstration of basic computer competency by: (1) successful completion of college computer competency; (2) successful completion of an online course; or (3) successful completion of an approved computer science course.
- Experience in health care as demonstrated by a CURRENT licensure or certification as: practical nurse, nursing assistant or other licensed/certified health care provider such as: Emergency Medical Technician, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Radiology Technician, or Dental Hygienist. An expired licensure will not meet this requirement.
Application to the AASN RODP is a two step process.
- Step 1. AASN RODP Application: Individuals apply for admission to the AASN RODP by completing the online application. Upon submission of all information, the application is considered by the Executive Committee for admission referral to a home school. Applicants will receive an email notification from the RODP office regarding application status and home school referal. Students with incomplete applications will not be referred to a home school. Applicants must await notification of home school referral before applying to the Nursing program of a participating college/university.
- Step 2. Application to Home School Nursing Program: Once students have met initial RODP eligibility requirements and received email notification of home school referral, individuals apply for admission to the nursing program of the referred home school. They must complete the admission process at that particular program in order to finalize the application for the AASN RODP. Students seeking financial aid, must contact the financial aid department at their home school.
